Who's That Lady?! 👀

Welcome to Math n' Stuff with The Younge Lady!

Allow me to introduce myself... *clears throat*... I am Lori Younge--The Younge Lady. Yes, there is an 'e' at the end of my name...it belongs there. Glad we cleared that up.

Let me get into a few of the things people typically want to know when they're meeting someone for the first time. (It doesn't matter if you already know who I am. Just get to the end of this post. Thank you.)

Name? Covered that one already. Hometown? Brooklyn, New York! Super proud of that. For me, there truly is no place like home. I have two siblings--one brother, one sister. I am the youngest. My cultural background is primarily West Indian. I'm pretty sure you already know my favorite subject...*wink*...which leads me into education. I attained my Bachelor of Science degree in Applied Mathematics and Science from the NYC College of Technology in the CUNY system. What else? I am a math tutor and I love it! I think that covers the basics.

Why did I start this blog and what can you expect from it?

I mean--it just feels right. I like love to solve math problems and I don't want to forget how to do them. Actually, I can't afford to forget due to my line of work. I gotta know my stuff. I want to share math problems I work on, whether they are problems I am doing for myself or problems that I help people with. I also really want to give people who like math enough, but haven't really done it in a long time, the opportunity to do it again in a space/community where they have support. Some of the best times I had in college were during study groups for my upper level math courses. So, I guess you can say that it's a bit nostalgic for me.

You can definitely expect a math problem of the week. What would this blog be without that? You can also expect other math content...you know mathy kind of stuff. I got some ideas.
